Wihuri Metro-tukku, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, and MaRa ry collaborated on a study called The Restaurant Barometer, which explores the experiences of professionals in the restaurant industry and their views on the future of the sector. More than 800 restaurant industry employees, students, and entrepreneurs participated in the research.

“The restaurant industry is a major sector in Finland, employing thousands and providing services that almost everyone needs. The well-being of those working in the industry and its overall future are important questions not only for those in the field but also for society as a whole,” explains Jukka Heinänen, Vice president and General Manager at Metro-tukku.

The Restaurant Barometer reveals positive prospects for the industry. Despite challenging years, professionals in the field feel proud of their work, and especially value positive feedback from customers. The most important resource is the work community, which is often described as a second family.
